the process behind
spritz hand sanitizer
Spritz hand sanitizer spray was a concept I came up with to make using sanitizer more fun, and to kick up the packaging. The logo was drafted by hand, the packaging was mocked up by hand, and finally, a photoshoot was set up to capture the component styled with fruit.
sketches
Step one: creating the logo.
Brush pens and nibs were used in drafting several versions of the logo. Many pages were filled with practice pieces until finally, I chose one to work with, as is. It is later rendered using Adobe Illustrator. I think hand lettering elevates a brand giving a personal touch, but also communicates something that fonts cannot do. In this case, swiftness is what we are trying to get across to the viewer with this logo.
packaging
Step two: developing a brand and its packaging.
I chose to borrow Milk Makeup's HydroGrip Primer component for the base of my packaging. I imagined it in matte black with a shiny holographic logo, and colored text to communicate the difference of the scents. I put it together using my printer, Epson premium presentation matte paper, and my Cricut cutter to cut out the logo for each scent variation.
shoot
Step three: the photoshoot.
Because this project was done in under 5 weeks, I had to have everything prepared by week 3 to be able to plan a photo shoot at my old college campus. I was able to use the studios to prepare my packaging, slice up my fruit, and photograph my work in the best setting possible. I styled my pieces as best as I could, and the rest of the magic was editing the photos and creating assets.
